What's inside each pack
Every proposition comes with the same three documents. Here's what each one is, plus a free Proposition 1 sample you can open right now.
Lesson plan
Built on the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework in three stages. Stage 1 sets the desired results: the essential question, objectives, and vocabulary. Stage 2 lays out the assessment evidence. Stage 3 is the learning plan itself: warm-up, direct instruction, guided practice, independent practice, and closure, plus differentiation notes for struggling and advanced students.
Student worksheet
Five parts that walk a student through the proposition: construction practice with compass and straightedge, proof justification matching each step to a toolkit item, thinking deeper discussion prompts, a challenge problem, and a self-assessment so students can gauge their own understanding.
Answer key
Fully worked solutions for the construction, the proof, the discussion questions, and the challenge problem, plus teacher notes flagging the common mistakesstudents make. You don't need a math background: the key tells you what a good answer contains, so you can check understanding without working the proof yourself.

Scope & sequence
The pacing guide walks all 48 propositions across a standard 36-week homeschool year, split into two semesters and assuming 3 to 4 sessions of about 45 to 60 minutes each week. Built-in review and assessment weeks give students time to consolidate before moving on.
Semester 1 · Weeks 1–18
Foundations (definitions, postulates, common notions), the basic compass-and-straightedge constructions, triangle congruence (SAS, SSS, ASA/AAS), the triangle inequalities, parallel lines, and the Angle Sum Theorem (Prop 32).
Semester 2 · Weeks 19–36
Parallelogram properties, area theory (equal areas between the same parallels), the area constructions, and the grand finale: the Pythagorean Theorem (Prop 47) and its converse (Prop 48).
One nice thread to point out along the way: Propositions 1–26 hold without the Parallel Postulate. The shift to Euclidean-specific results happens at Proposition 29. The full week-by-week guide ships with the curriculum.
Standards alignment
We've mapped all 48 propositions to the Common Core geometry congruence-and-construction cluster (G-CO). Book I's strengths are real, and there is one real gap.

What Book I leaves out. The Common Core also expects transformational geometry (cluster G-CO.A: translations, rotations, and reflections described as functions). Euclid does not cover this; it's a fundamentally modern approach he never formalized. If you need full Common Core alignment, plan to supplement with a short transformational-geometry unit (free tools like GeoGebra work well). Coordinate geometry (G-GPE) and similarity beyond the Pythagorean Theorem (G-SRT) sit outside Book I as well. We'd rather tell you this plainly than pretend Euclid does everything.

Classical education fit. Euclid's Elements is the foundational text for the Geometry arm of the classical Quadrivium, a position it has held for over two millennia, and it sits naturally in the logic stage of the Trivium (roughly ages 12–16). Working through Book I, a student learns geometry and, just as importantly, learns to reason deductively from first principles, which is the whole point of the logic stage.
