About This Project

Euclid's Workshopis a study companion for Book I of Euclid's Elements — the foundational geometry text written around 300 BCE that shaped mathematical thinking for over two millennia.

Our Approach

We focus on the pedagogical layer: plain-language explanations, the "why it matters" context, a cumulative toolkit that shows how knowledge builds, interactive proof challenges, and connections to modern mathematics — all in one place.

The Toolkit

Our key feature is the Toolkit— a running inventory of every definition, postulate, common notion, and proven proposition available at each point. When you're working through Proposition 15, you can see exactly which tools you've built up from Propositions 1–14. Each proof only uses what came before.

Faithful to Euclid

We stay true to Euclid's axiomatic framework. When explaining constructions, we frame them in terms of what the postulates permit — not in terms of physical tool limitations. Euclid's postulates define operations, not instruments.
